idahome

my time here in idaho has come to an end. I have loved every second of my mission and have learned so much about myself and especially about my savior jesus christ. I know that this is HIS gospel and it has the power to changes lives; no matter how hurt, how lost, or how far away you think you are. i have been grateful for the amazing people that I have grown to love and idaho will always have a special place in my heart. thank you so much for all the prayers and support. i love all of you. thanks again for everything. see y'all in a couple days!

mosiah 2:41; And moreover, I would desire that ye should consider on the blessed and happy state of those that keep the commandments of God. For behold, they are blessed in all things, both temporal and spiritual; and if they hold out faithful to the end they are received into heaven, that thereby they may dwell with God in a state of never-ending happiness. O remember, remember that these things are true; for the Lord God hath spoken it.

final week

hey everyone. this week was super hot but all in all, it was a great week. it started off with one of the comps being sick so we had to drop him off with our senior missionary couples that we have in our stake so elder tolley and I could get some work done. then by wednesday, we were all healthy again and had a couple district meetings to attend and they are always a good meeting.

on friday, I went on exchanges with elder riley in menan and that day was super hot and on top of that, we were on bikes. hahaha, but it was a great day being able to spend time with elder riley.

yesterday, we got to teach primary in one our wards and we taught the junior primary first and talked about being missionaries and then one kid asked us if we helped donald trump build the wall. hahahahaha. it was super funny. kids say the darnest things.

well thats about it for this week. thanks for all you do!

i told you, i won't commit to a date

hey everyone. this week was packed with appts. so we found a new investigator a couple weeks ago and we have been teaching him the lessons and during one of our lessons, we invited him to be baptized and at first he was pretty hesitant about accepting a baptismal date and told us that he would think about, no worries right? so then a couple days later, he was like, "i think i'll have to take you up on that baptism thing." we're stoked and he's getting baptized on august 12th, just here in a couple weeks.

we have a lot of work going on here in rigby. we have a lot of potential and a ton of dedicated members here that are doing their best at providing us with enough teaching opportunities to keep us busy. it's going to be sad to leave such a great area in a couple weeks that has such great potential but the lord is in charge and has a plan and a timing for everyone. i know of his love for all of his children.

that's all for this week, thanks for all you do.

Week of July 10th

hey everyone! the work here in this area is great. we have a lot of people that we are teaching and we have two investigators that have a baptismal date. one of them is progressing really well and is getting baptized the first week in august. so the other night we wrapped up teaching on of our investigators and we walk outside to get to the car and a man walks past us and my companion says, "hey, how's it going?" and the dude says "FINE!" and then proceeds to carry on his way as he flashes at us his pistol as if we were about to start a brawl. definitely not here in rigby, idaho. :)

the church is true and this is HIS gospel. thanks for all you do.

happy 4th

hey y'all, its been another busy week in rigby. we are working with a lot of potential and still trying to meet with all of them and it makes it a little more stressful now because we're back to covering the whole stake (nine wards again). all is going well though and there are plenty of great members here who want to help. the whole trio things is going great. its a little hard sometimes but we tend to work out the kinks. all is well here in zion. thanks for all you do!

Rigby pt.2

well its going to be a long six weeks. it's definitely weird to be back in rigby but we have a lot of good members here that keep us busy. we are back to covering the whole stake plus a ysa ward and it's busy. we are working with a few people who have baptism dates and a couple that the elders found before they left the area. let me give you a quick update on my comps. elder taylor is from virgina and he's been out for eighteen months and then there's elder tolley who is from meridian, idaho who has about six weeks left. it's super weird being in a trio but we make it work.

rigby is a good town. there is a lot of people who we are teaching and so our teaching pool is always full but i'm super excited to be here and get to work.

thats about it for this week, thanks for all you do!

happy transfer week

hey everyone, this week was GREAT. we found two new investigators and they are on board to be baptized sometime in july. we helped one of the bishops in the ward do some yard work and were able to put some service hours in.

we have transfers this week and i am and going back to rigby and going to be in a trio for my last  6 weeks. its definitely bittersweet leaving this area and so many faithful members. my heart is definitely in ammon west. other than that, all is well here in zion but the work must move on. thanks for all you do.

welcome back elder reams

this week was a little rough for us. we ended up dropping families that we were working with, they weren't keeping any of there commitments so we handed them over to the ward they're in so the members can start making friendships with them. we were at the hospital a ton this week giving people blessings and telling them to keep their heads held up and to stick it out through theses tough times. the members here are great and work so hard at helping us and the work here progress.

we had the opportunity to have a conference with brad wilcox and it was awesome. he talked about our purpose here in this life is to serve others and to find out who was are what we can become. he's a great speaker and definitely learned a lot from him. well that's about it for this week, thanks for all you for you do! y'all have a great week.

potatoes forever and always!

well just like that, the idaho falls temple is back up and running. we were able to go to all three sessions of the rededication and it was a super cool experience. our recent convert brooke was even able to go to the actual temple for one of the sessions and she had a great time.

we have been still going around and trying to clean up some records in our area and have run into some really weird people but who would when you're a missionary. it's been hot all week which is nice because we helped out at the temple planting/ watering flowers and making the grounds look good. all is weel here in the ammon west stake. the members are great and we are teaching a new investigator this week. keep them in your prayers! thanks for all you do! y'all have a good week.

mormon or nah?

honestly the best times are when you walk to church and a guy yells out his car window and screams, "mormons suck!" hahaha it was a good start to a wonderful sunday. well this week wasn't any special. i was like 30 degrees one day but the rest of the week was in the high 70's. we were able to meet with a lot of members and have them share the gospel over their social media and it was super fun and they really enjoyed it.

other than that, we have just been trying clean up some records for some bishops and ward leaders. we helped plant flowers at the temple and it was super fun. well, that's about it for this week, sorry it was a short email. y'all have a good week!

AYEEEEEE!

hey family, well not too much has happened this week. the weather was good to us though and tried to walk to catch some people outside but that really didn't work, hahaha. Brooke is still AMAZING. we finished the new member lessons with her and yesterday, she even got a calling yesterday and we set up an appointment with her bishop this week to get her patriarchal blessing. that's about for this week, sorry for the super short email. the mission life is great and the church is true!

NAILED IT!

you know you're a missionary when you go to a dinner appointment and when you knock on the door they don't answer, and when they finally do answer, they tell you that you can't be fed unless you invite one of their neighbors over to eat. story of my life, hahaha. and the guy that we that we invited didn't even want to eat. this week was great, we had fives days in a row where it was 75 degrees and sunshine and it was so nice that we even walked a couple days so that was fun. we didn't have too much happen this week other than just visiting members and all that good missionary stuff. we did have good day on saturday though, we were able to help out at one of the high schools and help out with the special olympics in the area and it was a BLAST. we were there basically all day and got sweet sunburn.

we have transfers this week and elder rossi boi and I are staying for another six weeks on the west side and we couldn't be more stoked. the area is scarce with work but the members are great at doing their best in helping us find us those who are elect. all is well here is zion and wouldn't trade serving here for anywhere else. y'all have a good week! oh yeah, 11 more weeks... :)

TEMPLE OPEN HOUSE!

you know when you're in idaho when the weather changes from snow all morning to 60 degrees in the afternoon. the weather here is great though . ;). it has been a GOOD week. the the temple open house has gotten underway and we have been taking some our members and even our investigator family through and the spirit was AMAZING. the family are still taking the lessons but is going to take wayyyy longer than we thought but all is well and the lord does have a plan for all of his children and we're not the least worried. brooke baker went to the temple! she went on saturday with the members who introduced her to the gospel and she had a great time. she was able to perform baptisms for her deceased ancestors and even go to do some names for her neighbors. she is coming along super and we even got news that she's engaged to her boyfriend and even has a date to be sealed in a year from now. its amazing to see the gospel changes lives and then in return, change others lives by their example. well, things here are great. the weather has been good (for the most part) and the members are the best. gods power is real and have seen it change others over the course of my mission and especially myself. y'all have a good week.

POTATO PARTY FO DAYZ.

The best times as a missionary are when the unexpected things happen just randomly and out of nowhere and you better believe is happened to us this week. So we were walking down the street from trying to contact on of our investigators that we were trying to see and then a black man comes up to us and raps on the spot for a solid 15 minutes about the gospel. It was honestly super good and after he left, we have not seen him since and nobody knows who he is or where he lives. It was a good day after being spiritually fed by gospel rap.

This week flew by and are still working with our investigator family. We had a couple lessons with the dad this past week and taught the plan of salvation but his two daughters haven't been there. The dad did tell us that it okay to go ahead and get the girls baptized before he does since he had some problems come up and so the girls are preparing to be baptized on may 6th.

We were able to go through the temple twice on saturday and it was amazing. Th spirit is so strong and the peace is felt throughout the whole tour. That's about for this week, thanks for all the support and love you send this way!

BAP CITY

Well Brooke got baptized and it was awesome! It even snowed like and hour before the baptism started but that didn't stop her from coming. The ward that she's in continues to just take her under their wing and is making her feel welcome. We talked with the bishop last night and we are going to get a couple in the ward to start teaching her the new member lessons and then eventually get her a calling in the ward. We were able to go the the family history center this past week with her and she was able to start her family history work. She wasn't able to get names to take to the temple yet because at the time, she wasn't a member but also because the rexburg temple is closed for two weeks for cleaning. A couple members are taking her on the 29th of April though so its all good there.

We had a lesson with some new investigators that we found the week before transfers and they are golden and again, we found them through members. They just moved here from arizona and have been living here in some apartments for a couple months now and the way we found them is way confusing so i'll save you the details, hahaha. So long story short is that they accepted being baptized on 29th of this month. It's a father and two daughters and the members that are fellow shipping them are great. The member that is fellow shipping them got tickets for them and us to go through the temple open house come friday, it's and gonna be awesome.

So that's about it for this week, it snowed twice this week, nothing too big but now the weather should be good for a couple weeks. Please continue to keep Brooke and the Shcafer family in your prayers! The church is true and god lives! Y'all have a good week!

General Conference Weekend

Hey everyone, hope y'all had a good week and were able to at least watch/listen to general conference this past week. A lot of good and inspiring messages were shared! This work here in this stake is continuing to move forward. We have one of our investigators that we are working with is ready to be baptized this coming weekend and she couldn't be more solid. We are going to one of the family history center's here in town on wednesday and she is going to find family names for her to take to the temple the following week after her baptism and she is stoked for that too.

We had transfers this past week and I got another companion. His name is Elder Ross and he is from Murray, Utah and has been out six months. We got a car and its good be be crusin' around the city in our chevy cruz, hahah. We had lesson with a family of four who are all non members and expressed that they want to be baptized and so we are having a lesson with them this week and hope for the best.

We also have lesson this week with someone over skype/facetime who lived in north dakota and we are super hyped for that. We'll keep you posted. That's about is for this week, thanks for all you do and for the love, support and prayers you send this way! Have a good week and don't ever forget that the church is true.

Lovest Thou Me?

So a penguin and a walnut tree walk into a bar, it was flippin' nuts. This week was busy, the weather is still amazing and we have super cool neighbors.

We were able have a couple lessons this week with our investigator, Brooke and she is still doing awesome! She was able to find a place for her boyfriend to live so they wont be living together anymore, so that's good. She even wanted to move her baptismal date a week earlier, so now she'll be getting getting baptized on April 8th. We are having a lesson with her this evening at the stake presidents house.

That's about it for this week, thanks for all you do.
