Happy Thanksgiving

Que hay de calabazas,

It finally snowed a couple inches here last night so life's good. The week was really slow due to the thanksgiving holiday and it was hard to see a lot of people either because they were out of town or they told us to come back after the holidays. We were able to see a couple people who were home and were able to share a couple messages with them.

Thanksgiving day was good. We had 3 dinner appts. and they're was a lot of food. We got a lot of left overs and now our fridge is full of meals for the week. We also played football that morning and about 40 people showed up to play and it was a blast.

This morning, as a mission we were able to finish the Book of Mormon and were to put Moroni's promise to the test.

3- Behold, would exhort you that when ye shall read these things, if it be wisdom in God that ye should read them, that ye would remember how merciful the Lord hath been unto the children of men, from the creation of Adam even down until the time that ye shall receive these things, and ponder it in your hearts.

4- And when ye shall receive these things, would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not trueand if ye shall ask with sincere heartwith real intenthaving faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto youby the power of the Holy Ghost.

5 -And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things.

God answers all payers, in his own time and in his way, but he does answer them. That's all I've got for this week. Thanks for all the prayers and support you send this way! God is Good. Christ lives and loves each and every one of us. Check out the new Christmas video on mormon.org and use #LIGHTtheWORLD

LIGHTtheWORLD

It was an awesome week here. Elder Taylor made his rounds in saying goodbye to all of the members here in the area. We had transfers come Wednesday and I got my new companion and he got all settled in. We saw a couple people that night and were able to see Dustyn and prep him for his baptism.

For the rest of the week, we found a new investigator and she wants to get baptized and will probably happen next month. Her dad dad is active and told us he really didn't know why he didn't baptize her when she turned 8 but she is ready now and cant wait for it to happen.

We had Dustyn's baptism on Saturday night and a whole bunch of people and it was really a good program. His step dad was able to baptize him and the spirit was so strong.  He will be a good member in his ward and will hopefully get the priesthood next Sunday and will be able to pass the sacrament.

Other than that, my new companion and I are working super well together. He's been out for 14 months and is quiet but is able to teach really powerful and with the spirit. i think this will be a good transfer. Thanks for all the support you give me! As we celebrate the thanks giving holiday, let us all remember what we are thankful for.

Alma 34:38
"That
ye contend no more against the Holy Ghost, but that ye receive it, and take upon you the name of Christ;that ye humble yourselves even to the dust, and worship God, in whatsoever place ye may be in, in spirit and in truth; and that ye live in thanksgiving daily, for the many
mercies and blessings which he doth bestow upon you."

Go out and serve those around you this holiday season. When we serve others, we are serving our Heavenly Father. Look for those opportunities to serve those around you just as Christ would if he was here. The church is true and God and His son, Jesus Christ live!

A new Christmas initiative is coming out this Friday, so go check out the new video and ways you can serve on mormon.org/christmas

Happy Halloween

Hello everyone, hope that y'all had a good week! It's been good here in Rigby South and continuing to find those who are ready to receive this gospel. We are currently working with our investigator, Dustin, and we were able to teach him the Plan of Salvation this week. After the lesson, we set a baptismal date with him for November 19th. His parents were recently baptized a couple months ago and totally have changed their lives around and now love going to church and love being around the missionaries, so us and they are super excited for this to be happening in their family.

On Friday, we met with one of our other investigators who we haven't been able to teach in a couple months and she agreed to listen to the discussions. She's been taught everything and so we decided that she was ready for a baptismal date. We taught her about why Christ was baptized and extended an invitation to her to be baptized and she said she doesn't think she's ready and is afraid of what her parents are going to think. She also came to church yesterday and have another lesson with her this week.

Saturday, we had one of the ward Halloween parties and about 200 people came. About a third of them were either less actives or non members. We were in charge of the cupcake walk and had a really good turn out.

We had 4 investigators come to church yesterday and one of them came in the first time over a year! It was a good Sunday. That's about it for this week. Thanks for all the prayers and support you send my way! God is good. The church is true and Christ lives.
